2 weeks ago (maybe longer since time flies) I get a call with questions about availability and the stable. Will be traveling with her Father (elderly - yes there are stairs) and yes I do have 2 rooms available. "Will have to check with my Dad about the stairs." OK, let me know as I DO have to clear it with the stable also.
She calls back and says Dad is OK with the stairs but she has a dog. I tell her I still have the 2 rooms and if dog stays in the trailer, no problem. Her: I will get back to you.
Friday she calls again and I tell her I now only have ONE room available - the room with the double bed. I even give her the number for the micro place near the exit for Dad since she says he is 6'4" and a double bed will not do. She will get back to me later tonight or Saturday. I warn her the pipeline workers have taken almost all the rooms in the area. She does not make the rez and no call. Oh, BTW, the day she would be coming in Monday, May 19.
TODAY - about 1 PM she calls to ask how far is Mtown from me - the micro place is full (she sounds incredulous to discover this). I remind her she has NOT made a reservation here. Now she gets testy - well I can't make a reservation there if I do not have a room for my Father can I? All these phone calls and do rez yet. Oh and all this for a $99 room and the only stabling facility between NJ and Charleston (3 hours south of me) as she goes to Kentucky with a horse.
Now I have no doubt she is going to show up tonight - either while I am helping work on the Community Garden or while I am at a banquet at the Woman's Club
Are we taking bets yet?

She will say "The woman I spoke to said I have a room".
Yes - if it were not for the horse, I would tell her the room is gone. It is just too hard on the animals. Many of the times I have been "pole-axed" it was people with horses that booked, called, called, and then drove on through. Many of them I was ready to smash but the GOOD horse people have told me that a responsible horse owner tries to not have the horse in the trailer longer than 6 hours if they can avoid it.

Had someone walk in last week to book a room for someone else. 'They'll call you with their info.'
Today I had to call. The guests did not know where the rez was made so, rather than calling their friend to ask, they just waited.
Arriving in 3 days.
Busiest weekend since Valentine's day I'm tracking people down for cc info.
