Where am I staying tonight?

Call at 6:30 am today. Do not know why dh answered it.
Has a reservation somewhere for tonight but does not know where.
We never know if this is for real or a spouse looking for trouble!

We get people calling here all the time that say they have a reservation in July or August but can't remember when. Then I've got to go flipping through our PITA old fashioned reservation book (since the owners & previous managers are completely stuck in the early 90s and I don't have a PMS yet), page by page, until I find their name.

We had someone show up the other night insisting they had a reservation with us, and I was completely booked. My worst fear! Turns out they were booked at another B&B down the road. Always amazes me that people don't know where they're staying!

We were out today for a few hours. Guests left here to go to the second inn in the inn to inn package we do.
We had 3 phone calls from them and 2 messages asking us where they were supposed to be going they couldn't find their itinerary!

OY!

The first thing I thought of when I read the title to this thread was how I love to travel but hate not knowing where I'll lay my head that night.
We can leave here and head in any direction and do whatever we want, see whatever we want to see, but I NEED to know where I'll sleep that night. I don't know if it came about from when the kids were younger and there was always that crashing hour or what, but it's a major thing for me.
We'll head northeast in August again and I already have the short list of where I'll be making reservations. I know that I need to make them this week or we might not get anything at all!
