Started the day by flipping the apartment where my Pennsylvania innkeeper friend spend the weekend. She was so neat it only took 2 hours rather than the usual 3+. Unlike Innspiring innkeepers, she didn't leave any surprises behind...that I know of.
Next was watching the ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, followed by grilled pork steaks for lunch. Used the souvenir Blues Hog BBQ Sauce ICE left here when she visited last December. Sweet and DELICIOUS on pork!
Now we're having the best simple afternoon treat possible: root beer floats. Love them! I don't guess Cambs can get root beer in England. Floats aren't as good with a cola.
But thanks to Innkeep, now I'm feeling the need for a boiled egg to make for a perfect day.

sounds lovely. We did not have any check ins last night, so we were able to relax by the koi pond with a glass of wine and not pay attention to the door. Very nice way to end a very, very busy weekend.

Nothing puts the icing on the cake than to get up early to make a beautiful breakfast for one couple and have them not show up.
I have everything ready...
Edited: They showed up at 930am and apologized for oversleeping. He actually was only going to get her a coffee and leggit and I said, hey breakfast is ready whenever you are... so they are in eating now.

Good.
And they loved it and said thank you. No worries.

I had a City Council Work Session meeting that was preceded by a blessedly short Special meeting but the Minutes of he Special Meeting were required for something today. So I cam home and proceeded to transcribe Minutes for the month (it does get them out of the way) until I got hung up on an Ordinance title. from May 12. Of course last night was a request for pudding! Never fails.
Because of meeting I missed the call from my son. Wife forgot to add her precious dogs to the manifest when she booked their flight. She left on schedule yesterday. Talked to son just now. He and dogs leave for Paris today and he "thinks" he has a flight the next day from Paris to Helsinki BUT they were originally leaving on day 5 of the dogs' health certif as required by Finland. Due to the screw-up, he is now on day 6. and then the hop from Paris - so he will be crossing fingers he can get the dogs home so he does not face the wrath of Medusa (my words). Does not matter that it was her error.
