I cannot express this as I am still shaking. It is weird to me how PITAs can be so combative. Ugly. Who does this? Who goes to a person and treats them this way?
Now we LIE because you cannot walk to the music venue that is three blocks away, that we walk to all the time. We were there on Saturday, we walked to and walked home.
I called the venue manager and warned them they are coming, she lives right next door and walks to work every day. This couple called us "disgusting" for lying about it. Well I have been called many things in this B&B venture but never disgusting. That is a new term.
Guess what people, I refunded their frickin' money, I do not, ever want to deal with this toxic couple again. Ever. Ever. Ever.
Our next room checked in and were delightful. Wonder if they noticed my shaking hands. Days like these I don't know if I can last...

Wait? She lives next door to the venue? She got mad because she didn't know where your place was in relation to hers thus did not know how far it was?
I've had this with that nastiness but not the name calling.
"I walked 2 blocks. I counted! There was no store 2 blocks away, you lied."
Every local person here has said no one here, no one, knows what a"block" is. I should only use time.
Same thing, tho. A slow walker will complain. A fast walker will complain.
And yes, you needed them out of your space.

Sorry. That's probably the best money you've spent/lost in a long time, though. Right move. Now you can start to move on but yes, you'll be fuming for a good while.

I think she means the venue manager lives right next to the venue...
I called the venue manager...she lives right next door and walks to work every day

well, i think jb means that the venue manager lives next door to her (her being jb) and walks to the venue every day. so it is not just superwoman jb that can do this walk. jb?
some people never walk. ever.
hop in the car and drive down the street. literally.
yes, it's further than walking out the door to your car. (that is not considered 'a walk'.)
i tell people how far away things are in terms of 'blocks' - they know darn well if they can walk a block or not.
good riddance to them. shame on them for not being willing to try the walk. or keeping their nastiness in check. unless they are impaired in some way and unable to walk, they could go slow. stroll ....

So sorry JB. You did the right thing for you, just to get them out of your sight.

It is times like these that make me wonder why I ever wanted to be in the people industry.
Sorry!
Sometimes I wonder if it is just a way to get out of the reservation because one or the other doesn't want to stay at a B&B. They know they can not just cancel so 'lets call them out on ____, say they lied about ____' We will be ugly and they won't want us there.
You are far better off.

So glad you got rid of them. I would not have let them go without giving them a piece of my mind. some people are just totally toxic and nothing pleases them!!!
Take some deep breathes and enjoy the good ones still with you,

Thanks.
Just boggles the mind how people can be cruel and mean to other people they don't even know. This business can turn a person to a hater, I am beginning to hate. Today I am. Worse case scenario is the person lives in our county, and I was thinking of some bad things to do... you know of road rage, it ain't nothin' like innkeeper indignation!

You had a virulent infestation in your house and you recognized the source and as a great innkeeper excised it, removed it from the premises before it contaminated your entire facility. THAT is the sign of a great innkeeper. Proactive!

Thanks.

That's the kind of person I fantasize about getting back at...old Yankee trick....Sneak up on their roof and hang a cod fish down their chimney....that'll fix 'em real good!

Thanks.

Think of those things in your mind and how they will react and eventually it will subside.
How about taking a piece of paper out and writing a note that says "You reap what you sow" and using a lovely glue stick to stick it on their car window and all the hours it will take to get off. Or in their car going to the music venue only to find that the closest parking spot is in front of your house. Just think of cruel pranks to pull and eventually it will disappear. (My favourite, lubricating jelly in a lovely container that is supposed to be hand sanitizer and spending 30 minutes trying to get it off their hands!)
Here's the good news... they will never rebook, ever. They have burnt that bridge. You paid a price to ensure you never have to have them in your home again.

I say 5 minutes to the town centre if you stride 10 minutes if you dawdle and look in the shops - then they laugh and it covers me for time.
3 - blocks? its nothing!

So sorry to hear this. So glad they're GONE. Just think of that awful awkward guilt and agitation thing they're going to have inside if they ever see you in the grocery store or elsewhere in public. You did the right thing. It's what you do.

So sorry to hear you've had to go through this. Good riddance to bad rubbish, by the sound of it!!

Name calling is a very low form of argument.
Innkeepers rule. Namecallers drool.

I walked up to the breakfast table this morning and a guest was wearing this tshirt and I said "Did you wear that just for me?"

I spilled my guts, they said "Are you kiddin' me? This place is terrific!" and it made my day. I wish I had on this shirt yesterday and could do a full slap and nose pull on that dirt bag.
This is a really big image if you imagine it in person, it made my day. Who knew I needed a stooge to make my day!

We all need a little stooge now and again.
(Another t shirt we should design!)
