I had a hunch

He called in a hurry to make the reservation for our most private accommodation, wanted all communication via business e-mail, no home telephone #, no home address.  When he pulled up in his Lexus he was alone and he requested breakfast delivered to cottage both mornings. Said she wanted to sleep in and not be disturbed. Pulled out a $50 like it was a $5. We never met her...some how she made it to the cottage unseen.  Every shutter/shade in the cottage was closed tight...for the entire 2 days.  No ocean view for them. As far as we know they never left the cottage.  He brought the tray back the first morning so we wouldn't disturb her..requested no housekeeping ...and after 2 nights they finally left without ever seeing us.

So it was really no surprise when we had to clean the mess...blood everywhere.  Thankfully I have a waterproof layer under 2 mattress pads so the mattress was not ruined.  But it was a day of laundry getting the robes, linens and pillows cleaned up.

Yup I had a hunch when I took the reservation but, as you all know, a hunch is just a hunch.  It does not always pan out the way you think it might. Well this time it did.   Sigh

if it was only blood and no body or tarps it was probably a specialist.

Believe me....I shuttered when I looked in the garbage can and opened the refrigerator.  But like you said, Cambs, a professional doesn't leave the body behind.  wink

I'm over the shock of the mess and there were no missing person reports so I guess it was just a torrid affair with bad timing.  Although...... we do have a friend that has a real story to tell about a couple who checked into her rental and were a REAL cause for concern. She never rented it out again.  But that story is too gruesome for the folks reading this.

I wasn't real clear on it all. Don't guess anybody can be! It started out "he was alone" then a "she" comes into the story. I guess I'm missing something. As usual!

He called in a hurry...When he pulled up in his Lexus he was alone...Said she wanted to sleep...

ummmm, what?   I might report it to the police.  You had a hunch that murder was going to happen in your home?   I'm so confused.

Do you have them sign that they are responsible for excess cleaning and/or damage if the sheets and robes won't come clean?  I would charge him if it's that bad.

So, along with JB's bone story the other day and your blood story today we could write our own b&b horror book.

"And we never laid eyes on her..." Hmmmm.
