Yarmouth Nova Scotia

I'm blatantly asking for help from anyone in the know. There is a new ferry between Portland Maine and Yarmouth Nova Scotia. I would love to do this for DH as a Father's Day gift. He's great and this is the first idea that has inspired me. Ferry travels over night (leaves Maine 9 p.m. arrives Yarmouth 8 a.m.) Ferry back leaves at 10 a.m. - so obviously a night in Yarmouth makes sense. Any thoughts? Ideas? We could just "go along for the ride". Late dinner on board. Casino / night club / Sleep / arrive. Enjoy the sail back the same day?

I don't remember there being a lot in Yarmouth back when we took the Scotia Prince a million years ago.
Things may have changed in the meantime but I'd call the tourist info in Yarmouth (excellent tourist info place) and ask them what's walkable from the boat.
