Waiting game

Here we sit on a gorgeous day waiting. Not a single guest has come for breakfast.
Housekeeper will again be thumb twiddling while everyone sits and eats breakfast until 10:30.
Everyone has come for coffee. All say they will be back to eat "sometime".

If you have open breakfast seating you should know this is what will happen. Do you tell them?.... breakfast is over after......Sounds like a time to try a continental buffet. Put the stuff out, let them help themselves and you disappear.
After all these years, nothing should surprise you

Website says 9:30 AM So if someone shows up after that...NO breakfast..or just leave fruit,cereal, juice and coffee out for them. That will be their breakfast.

Breakfast.... served until 10:30AM. If it's good enough for Mickey D's around here, it's good enough for me. At 10:30AM lunch is served, so the table is cleared. I don't serve lunch.... sorry!
At 10:31AM there is nothing left.... you have to be off the table by 10:30AM.

I think I have brought some sort of forum voodoo curse upon myself for doing that. eek...scary
So breakfast ends at 930 - serving, so they can eat as long as they wish. I understand, I think. You are just being impatient. Is that it? You want to crack that whip and get them into gear and get their hineys out the door.

I had to leave at 10:30. If they are still at the table at 10:30 then dh is stuck with everything.
I think it was more the getting continuous cups of coffee and then going back to the room. But coming out to ask questions.
You're up! Eat already!
One of them has a ritual every morning. Nothing else happens until that ritual is over.
Everyone sat down at 9:27.
I got a lot done while waiting. Just didn't want to leave dh herding the guests out and organizing the housekeeper.
I got where I was going with 10 minutes to spare. Luckily. Or the boat would sailed off without me.
Then some of them got up and wandered off again.

Usually that is not possible. Can't clean, can't run the washer or dryer, can't make phone calls in the office, can't iron, can't leave to get shopping done. Luckily, everything I needed to do was quiet stuff.
Not much amazes me but some stuff still annoys me.
And I left at 10:45 and were the guests even bringing bags out? Nope. Dh said it was after 11 when they got moving.

Had a very nice man ask me, "should I knock on the door when I want breakfast?" I said, "No, please help yourself. It is all there." He was standing in the room surrounded by muffins, bread, peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese, butter, eggs, milk, oj, cran juice, fruit, yogurt, granola, cereals.....
Nope. That's it!
