I was outside today, moving the car and as I was walking back... the Google Streetview car came by. Assuming they were doing their pictures, I'm going to be immortalized in fuzziness forever! Ugh! That moment of realization that I'm going to be fuzzed on the street forever! Since they now keep a show the images forever.
I have an ad for the B&B on my T-Shirt, so maybe that won't be fuzzed! Good news is the flowers are all out and the street looks lovely today, so at least it's not a fall (bleh!) view.

I hope you smiled!!
Last year they finally came down our road. There, big as day is our plumbers big old white truck/van on the edge of our road. Nice...at least it doesn't have his business name plastered all over it.

It'll probably be another 10 years before they come down our road again.

Even if I did, we will never see it. Google has to fuzz out faces around here, by law. But the contractors van was almost in front of the house.
I am happy about my garden being all full of flowers, house painted, etc. But not sure I'm happy that I was walking on the street. Maybe he was just on his way, since he lives only a few streets away.... or maybe I'm in there for posterity, now.

Google fuzzes faces here too. I think it's world wide now.
I was thinking they go in manually and do that (time consuming), but I'll bet they use face-spotting software now to automate it, the same way Facebook can find the faces in a photo and offer you the chance to identify the people when you hover over the faces.
If the world switches to all touch screen, I'll miss hovering.

It's automated. They even fuzz cartoon faces :)

this is amazing to me. i have never noticed a google car driving along taking pictures.

They were going down our little street this past fall as I was walking the dog. I checked what our new street view looked like but didn't think to check to see if I was in the view down the road until now.

No, guess it had already captured the road by the time we passed.

At first I was happy of the early fall picture as the trees were not bare but taking a look at it again and I get a clearer picture of what people see most of the year - a little snippet of the corner of the house, everything else hidden.

Good, as that is what we were trying to achieve in the beginning - quiet hidden gem.
Bad, as now if people are trying to see if our website is accurate, they can't verify it with this view.
Bonus: the time of year hides most of my unsightly neighbors place!

Here is a "selfie" by the Google Street view snowmobile, reflected in the windows of the Huntley Lodge dining room at the Big Sky Resort in Montana:

Yes, you can use Googe Streetview to cruise ski runs and other trails, not just roads....

well, if i see one, i'll have to wave or make a face ... get myself noticed on google maps or whatever.
