We are participating in a "Pond Tour" organized by the local water garden center. The tour is self guided, free and this Saturday. We are hoping to get some locals and regional peeps to take a look and remember us.
Or, if not, we get to talk about koi fish all day, which is something we love.
Wish us luck.

What about your guests? Do you have any on Saturday and if so, how will it impact them?

The pond is outside. The tour is 9 - 4, so I would expect most people to come between 11 - 2. So the guests should be gone. If anyone comes at 9, they would be there during breakfast, but would not be inside the house.
There are two of us, so if we need to manage check outs, breakfast and pond tour all at one time, we can divide and conquer.

Local connectiona are a funny thing. They don't always result in immediate gain, but the long term value sneaks up on you. Sounds like a nice way to get things started

this town is small and its residents can be very territorial. a bad impression might hurt more than a good one helps. so we are trying to fit in and make a good impression.
plus, there are no hotels, so I figure everyone has weddings, funerals and holidays. so I'd like to be thought well of by the locals.

We did a Holiday tour of Homes '12 for a respected local Woman's group. Luckily it was on a Sunday afternoon with no guests in house (planned). And we had over 200 people pass through.

Since we are out of town and hidden away even though we have been here for 15+yrs we are not commonly known within the city.
We have had 1 wedding and several stays directly attributed to this event. Not a bad return on investment.

Hope this goes well for you!
