Here I am, the rooms are basically all clean except that I didn't dry the load of towels from yesterday and so I'm waiting on a dryer load of towels that is now slowing down the system.
One more bed. One more load of laundry. Towels to put up for the guests and then I get to contemplate if I can find something for lunch. My day is so busy today that my sister simply said "good luck with that". And so I stuck myself by waiting for towels....
 
One of the two useful tips we got from the PO - if the washer and dryer aren't going, you aren't doing your job.
(the other one - be sure to get the key back!)

I've forgotten to start the washer or the dryer. Go back an hour later and I'm right where I started!
Dh has forgotten to start the dishwasher, even worse!
We forgot to clean a room when we first started! Was showing the house to a competitor and walked into the messed up room. Never forgot again!
I've got 2 days' of sheets waiting to be ironed but it's too nice today to iron.

I've forgotten to start the washer or the dryer. Go back an hour later and I'm right where I started!

We forgot to clean a room when we first started! Was showing the house to a competitor and walked into the messed up room. Never forgot again!

I have reoccuring nightmares about that. I dream I'm checking guests in and when I open the door to their room the beds unmade, there's rubbish all over the floor, dirty towels in the bathroom.
The other one I have is guests pull up the drive and I realise we haven't cleaned the room so I'm rushing around trying to get it ready before they get to the front door.

I have had calls from the road booking rooms. I always ask, "Where are you now?" Have had times I had been dead tired or had something with the City and since I had no rez for the night, did nothing upstairs. Hearing a reply to my Question of a city 10 miles away, the conversation goes like this: Me: have you had dinner yet? Caller: No. Me: Excellent, why don't you have a leisurely dinner and come here afterward. There is a much wider choice of restaurant where you are now.
And then I work like a maniac to get the room ready.

That's all well and good if you know the room isn't done. We thought the room was done!
We've stripped and cleaned a room at 5:30 after guests walked out and just left the keys. Rerented it that night with a walk in.
