I went to the HarDware store today. Since I have a commercial CC the system is set to ask for a project name and then email me my invoice. Cashier (as per the norm) decided I didn't want me invoice in email and clicked on the NO. So, I made her reverse the whole transaction and do it again so I could have my invoice in email.
If I don't get my invoice in email then I have to scan it at home, file it, etc. If she sends it in email it's all automated. Why does the store build a system that is better for their commercial clients and then the cashiers decide to piss us off by overriding it? Or does this crap only happen to me?

No doubt it's because 80% of the people she deals with say they don't want the e-mail, so she quit asking and just assumed. I'll bet you have her asking again now, at least for a while.

I wonder if it is only on business accounts. But management and Head Office heard from me. So I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be asked for a while. I also suggested how they can fix this to avoid the problem... like moving the NO key randomly, so they can't just "click it".

My CC machine asks for the business account number when a biz card is used. Really threw me the first time because this wasn't a B2B transaction.

In our case it asks for project name. We don't use it, so I just write NONE. But getting my invoice in email is one of the great advantages.

It's like the checkout at our local super store used to ask every time if we wanted cash back. The till prompt this question but they don't even ask any more.
