Door codes

We do individualized door codes for the guests. Mostly because we had no luck getting them to remember the generic code.
Usually it's very easy for them to make the connection.
One guest today just looked at me and I asked, "isn't that your zip code?" No. "Don't you live in..." No. They gave us a completely fictitious address.
They don't even live in this country much less in the state and town they gave us!
Second time this has happened.

Oh my, what were they trying to pull? This NEVER crossed my mind? That would make me feel very suspicious and nervous. Just who is this person? And why can't they be honest?

You must not run a deposit or it would have to match. Or maybe not on your machine. Mine does.

Punching in numbers on SQ the zip MUST match the BILLING zip ot it says nada.

How about the last 4 digits of their mobile number as a code. You would be surprised at how many people don't know their own phone number!

It wasn't a problem! I did run a deposit. Maybe they used someone else's card. Hmmmm.

Not surprised at all - they do not call themselves.

Speaking of codes... Repeat guests yesterday let themselves in. Then rang the bell. They know the numbering convention.
Next time I just won't put theirs in until after they check in.

Those were my thoughts also. Why would anyone do that?

Not a clue unless the card wasnt theirs and they just put anything down for an address.
They left early, too.
Last people who did that I went and checked the address. It was an embassy. They said they worked for the government. We joked they were spies but not very good ones as they didn't have their story down.
