They are no longer going to give you a $5 credit for each month you have a review. The new system, you load in your guest e-mail and then with 'a few clicks. They claim the more reviews you have, the more bookings you'll probably get:
"Request guest reviews in just a few clicks
Customize your review request to add that personal innkeeper touch
Increase your reviews to help improve your listing and website performance

With Reviews Direct™, we’re taking the trouble out of requesting guest reviews by adding new features in your member Home Base that allow you to send email review requests to guests with just a few clicks.
How to request more traveler reviews
First, login to your Home Base and click the Reviews tab.
Either upload a CSV file of guest email addresses or type in past guest emails in to the empty box.
Customize the email you send with a unique subject line, photo and message.
Send a test email to yourself to make sure it looks okay to you.
Send email to guests.

REALLY???? You gotta be kidding. Why in the heck would I give bb dot com all of my guest's e-mail addresses???? Sure, then let all of my guests get spam from a directory.
Unless an innkeeper is using web er vations, all the reservation system I know of have the ability for you to send your own request if so desired.
In my opinion, this sounds to me like a huge effort by them to get my guest information.
A bunch of hooey!

I didn't read it. We've gotten 2 reviews from their referrals in 3 years. My guests don't like signing up for stuff.

As of the 1st of July, that's 100% illegal here. In fact, the new fine... up to $10 million dollars! Filling out that form with my guest's email address....against the law!

They are just following TripAdvisor's "ReviewExpress" example...
"give us your guest's e-mail addresses and we'll harass and spam them on your behalf!"
Umm, no thanks!

The latest email says they won't be using any collected emails for their own purposes.

Yeah, they'll probably spin so it's for the member's purpose. I just don't trust that company! Each year, I plug my nose when I renew. They are still providing enough reservations for us to stay with them.

I do not trust and despise this company and all they stand for. With all their tactics to get more money, and they could give a crap less about their customers. I haven't listed with them for over three years now and haven't looked back.
