I don't want to bother John with what should be a simple answer, but I can't figure it out. When I want to block out certain days, I've always gone into Reservation Manager, then Availability and clicked the individual days and room and made them "Unavailable"...which then compels me to put "0" for the Room Amount for each one or my reports will not coincide with my Quick_Books reports. It's kindof a hassle, and I'm sure there's a simpler way.

So if I just want to block out all my rooms for a week, does anyone know the easiest way to do it?

Yes. Go to Settings, then Reservation Status Options. For your Unavailable status click edit and then check box for: IF THIS STATUS DON'T INCLUDE RESERVATIONS IN REPORTS.

Follow Momma Smurf's instruction, then go back and change your old unavailable's to the new method. I'm not sure, but the old way may affect your overall occupancy numbers. I'm thinking it might, because you've had to change the room rate the old way.

I'm actually looking more for a way to just make the rooms quickly unavailable. This will help with the reports, thank you...but any quicker way to make them unavailable than the way I'm doing it?

Following with the topic of this thread, I've got another Res Key question.
Does anybody know how I can add instead of a room, a line where I can track in charges NOT ordered by guests. For example, our officiant only charge where they don't stay with us. I would like this income to show on ResKey, but the folks that purchase the officiant only service never are our guests, so I can't create a file with charges for them.
I could also see this as important for a property that has massage services, etc.

I don't think so. If you simply click on them all, add reservation, then change status to Unavailable it's pretty easy. Should be no need to set the rates to zero, as they are no longer included in reports. This is what we do.

Go to PROPERTIES then ROOM/UNITS then select the rooms you want to take out of service and select SET AS UNAVAILABLE. Enter the start date, then either enter the end date or the number of nights. Make sure that all days are checked. Click save. Rooms appear as OUT OF SERVICE

This is exactly what I wanted. Thank you. That was much faster than the way I was doing it.

Momma, the way you told her does not affect the occupancy rate. I was just afraid the old way she was doing it did.
