Multiple guests today with more than 2 in their party. One group decided to move their table, yes, the physical table got moved, so they could get everyone in.
I've got everything adjusted due to the old floors so when they moved the table it was tippy. I can fix that pretty easily by adjusting the legs.
Instead of asking, they took the cards from the games I have out and folded them up and jammed them under the legs to steady the table.
Who does this stuff??? Why would you think it's OK to ruin a game to make the table steady when you could just ask?
I am still baffled by this. And annoyed. And they will probably do it again tomorrow because we have the same odd number of guests.

Time to screw the tables to the floor

You are right..who does that??? IDIOTS that is who!!!!

Perhaps you should setup the tables for them for the morning and say something like "Oh, I got this all ready for you so we didn't lose any more cards from the games." Maybe then they'd get it.

I forgot we had so many multiples in the rooms. I had set 2 tables up already for 3 & 4. They just came in when I wasn't ready, moved the table, took the chair from the other table so I couldnt seat the last couple and that was that.
Maybe tomorrow there will be an open 3 top for them and it won't happen again. I hate to hide the games from everyone!

We've considered booths! Except there are too many really large guests who couldn't sit anywhere.

i hope you spoke to them about not using the game cards this way. just because it's not a game they care about is no reason to do this. if this were me i'd make little tent cards now saying 'if table wobbles, please ask the innkeepers for help' but i wouldn't be surprised if they use those to steady the table.

i don't want to make this a game of can you top this ... but have to share. someone actually took a small framed embroidered picture off a wall and put it under the leg of a desk in a guestroom. i couldn't believe it! total disregard for anybody else. granted, it was a little piece i picked up in a thrift shop, but it was hand done and how did they know it wasn't done by my grandmother or something? i didn't realize they'd done it til they were long gone and i was vacuming the room. amazingly the little piece survived.
where is super innmate when you need her/him? masked and caped to avenge all abused innkeepers everywhere!

Do you have enough seating that you can reserve a table for them? We have all individual tables but when we have a group of 4 or 6, my husband makes up a little sign saying "Reserved" and tells the party that he has a special table for them all setup for morning so they can all sit together. This really helps because sometimes they would be trying to move tables and cram them in between others so they could sit together. I'm very proactive and know how groups act so I steer them into what works in my dining room.

No, not enough seating to do that. And it's hard to hold a table when they might not show up at all!
Just realized tomorrow is two 4 tops and two 3 tops and one 2 top so no one will be happy unless they get down here at 8 on the dot.

I didn't say anything. I was really not sure I would be gracious and not say, 'who does that?' Or, 'where are your manners?'
I should have kept the cards and given them back in the morning.
