Tour de France - Tour de Harrogate

Camberly, how was your first Tour de France? I have seen some great video from your town, plenty of trees and historic buildings and castles. Sorry could not see your place, was it close? Great marketing for sure!

Nah too ruddy knackered! I thought (as this is what I would do) they would all be up early to get their best viewing spots - not a bit of it all 23 came at 9am on the dot like a ruddy bell had gone off!
The chamber maid couldn't get in as her bus wasn't running so mum and I had to run round like nutters to get everything done - then dash to the roadside to see it come through!
Our local boy Cavendish crashed out at the last 300 meters! ruddy nightmare! town would have gone mad if he had won - and yes Yorkshire is going bonkers! its the kind of international TV coverage money can't buy.
Massive clean up operation today mind!

We are in a prime location as half way between the route yesterday ie day 1 and the route for day 2 -
5 mins walk for 1 and 15 mins walk for day 2.
What has also helped was super amazing weather!

What great exposure for you and your town! Hopefully you'll be able to get bit of a rest soon.

maybe in September! we are mad busy with conferences, events and theatre stuff! Harrogate is THE place to buy a BB right now!

Congratulations on being so busy. 15 days in a row is killing me. The good thing that has come from this is that I found I DO make good biscuits - it I put butter in them! Now if I could just get DH to stay OUT of the kitchen when I am trying to do a guest breakfast! HIS breakfast is his priority but in his mind he is getting out of my way - truth is he is moving to where I need to be. 4 more breakfasts (almost forgot the band member), then 1 morning off and 2 rooms come in with horses.
