I'm trying to decide if I should buy this baby proof outlet cover and put it in one of my rooms.
I have the AC plugged in and people keep on pulling out the plug rather than use the remote to turn it on and off. When they pull out the plug it resets the unit and I have to get out a ladder and reset it again. But it also throws off the filter cleaning cycle as well. I've tried putting a label on the plug. That doesn't seem to work. So, maybe if I put this over it with a label showing where the remote for the AC is?
I'm pretty tired of having to reset the AC each time they do this. Any ideas?

Interesting. You are certain they don't want an extra outlet to charge the toys?
Maybe they unplug the AC because they have the tendency to start up in the middle of the night for no reason. (other then murphy law (or filtercycle?)). If you are certain the remote kills all action you can put a note to say that.
I would make the cover adult proof. Hardwire or locked cover....
I know the feeling, at our place they keep disconnecting the satellite receivers...

I have a LOT of outlets in the room. They are unplugging the AC and plugging it back in. The remote turns it all off. Maybe I should put that cover on and then glue the remote to that.

Breakfast is at 8, we are a non smoking house, please don't unplug the air conditioner. This remote will turn it off. Or, call me and I will help you.

can it be that they don't understand how to work the remote? before you laugh, i've been mystified by a couple remote controls.

and they're not plugging in their c-pap or b-pap because they want to use that specific plug?
you need signage (yes, the dreaded signage) not to unplug it.

No, their are outlets on the right and left of the bed for that. This outlet is specifically for that AC and it's far from the head of the bed.

How about installing one of these things over it. Requires a key to open it. Then put a sticker on it explaining about the remote.

well, then, you've got to lock and hide all sledge hammers because you know someone is going to try to bust it open. what is wrong with people??

.
Need one that is smaller, but that's possible. But I think the one for children will work. It should slow them down long enough to think that maybe they should use the remote instead?

You say that as I had to fix the wall yesterday from where a guest removed a mirror on the wall.

Would be fun to watch how Jon Sable would handle such vandalism.

I get where you are coming from.

How do they not get ON / OFF on the remote!!!!!
This may work but I also think they sell some that are screwed on. Then put a little sticker that says 'for your safety, do not tamper'.
We put one over a light switch that needed to stay 'on'. Every now and again we get someone that asks why it is blocked.

I like the "for your safety" notice. Until someone messes with it and puts an eye out!

Does the AC unit have an illuminated display, LEDs or other light-producing thing? Maybe the remote turns the unit off but doesn't kill the lights...?

It does have small LED, but the remote turns it off.

Putting up a sign that says "do not tamper" is asking them to try to tamper.

was showing our one of these to a guest this week - we have to have a booster for the TV areals or we get no signal, idiots kept turning it off to "help save energy" despite my sign they aren't doing it now! - guest had same problem with a rental property so they now have it solved!
