I'm opening a B&B in a local island in maldives. And its time for me to find a name please give me some ideas as naming a bed and breakfast is one of the most important decision to make.
The b&b is just couple of feet away from the beach.
thank you,.

Mary (below) is right -- go for search engine optimization. There are places on Google you can look to see how many people are searching for certain terms, generally product (B&B or Inn or hotel) and place. The inn name has a lot to do with where you end up on Google, as does your postal address and postal code. You want to use terms that people are looking for, but not so broad you will never appear on page 1 or 2.
Keep us informed and post a picture!

I'm skeptical. I never knew the alphabet played a part in search engine optimization! I learn something every day! You're saying we should all name our place AAA Lodging? I knew that works in the phone book, but didn't know it mattered to Google.

I'm not sure the alphabet plays a part for searches but it does for a lot of lists the place could end up on. I'm alpha challenged in that way so I don't signed up for directories that are alphabetical.
But the op should really just look at what the competition calls itself and work from there.

Why do we make ourselves slaves to other entities like Goo and TA? Who says Goo & TA will still be kings in 10 years? I keep hearing CONTENT is what moves the needle. Choose a name that pleases YOU, is easy for YOU to say, that YOU will enjoy saying a million or more times. It does make sense to make it something identifiable with the location if possible. Just my opinion of course.
Best to you with it.

I think a name needs to reflect the feel of the business - if it's a casual environment, how about "On The Beach B&B" or "A Beachy B&B" or "Sandy Toes B&B" (hey, I like that!). It could be as simple as "Island Time B&B" or "Paradise B&B". Make it paint a picture for the person seeing it.

I wanted to name mine, "The Beach House." We kept the name it already had. You are welcome to mine.
OR - as far as searching, I thought of the name, "Rockland Inn by the Beach." Sort of exactly what the goo goo search would be.
Does the town have a mascot? As an example, in Norfolk, VA, there is a mermaid statue everywhere you look, so I'd think of, "The Mermaid's Home," or "Mermaid Inn," or "Mermaid's Rock Inn."

Name should reflect where your inn is located. Be short as possible. No hypens!!!! Be easy to say and understood when said. The alphabet thing...is no big deal these days..everyone tried to "game" that one.
what is the island name? Is it a B &B or a vacation rental?
Something like atolislandbb.com or xxxxbeachbb.com or innatxxxbeach.com

When you come up with the name, think about the URL - your domain name at the same time. Who Resources and Pen Island BOTH failed to do that. Nuff said.

An area name would be best but to stay high in search engines ...names starting with an A or B or C or D would pop up first for European, American tourist. So........
Adventure Atoll Bed and Breakfast, Archipelago Cove Bed and Breakfast, Arabian Sea Bed and Breakfast, A Maldives Bed and Breakfast, Dream Cove Bed and Breakfast, etc.
You can probably come up with something better but this might get you started,,,,,, Best Wishes.... alphabet listing is used when a site list your BnB....like Virginia Tourism, Colleges ,
Wine trails, County Tourism, Cycle/Bike , Beach sites etc., any site that has a lodging listing.

Wow..that's a hard one for us to pronounce. But if you just call it Hulhudheli Beach House...would that work. Or does your beach area have a special name you could use.
Look here and see what names are taken and maybe it will give you some ideas: http://tourism.gov.mv/facilities/guest-house/
Good luck. I am assuming there are lots of tourists who visit there. Remote but sure is beautiful!

ya maldives is a popular tourist destination.but there is no hotel or guest house in hulhudheli.
thanks a lot

From Wikipedia:
People of Hulhudheli are among the most skilled silver and goldsmiths in the Maldives.
Maybe try and brainstorm in this direction as well? Like Golden Beach House, Golden Sand B&B, etc.
