New reviews carry more weight
This is good news for several reasons. First, if you don’t have many reviews yet you can greatly improve your ranking with an influx of new reviews. Second, more recent positive reviews will count more than outdated feedback.
Which also means if you've been working hard to make your business the best you can for 10 years and have hundreds of reviews, then a new business starts up down the road, gets a handful of reviews and suddenly they are above you in the ratings.

Oh why oh why do you fall under the umbrella of TA. they are making money off you at your expense. If you have a business listing with them ok that is your choice.
You have to stand up to the words of some one saying things that you spend hours trying to find out how you can word your remarks. Whether they are justified or not. The worries I see you all having is too much stress. Just to much!!!. Mean while trip a is making all the profit . How about when you don't have an account with them yet they use your business name for there profit!! Really . Why would any company that is a good company allow phony names to be used ? Is it to protect the innocent ??? Not likely. Protect the people that are writing the reviews? Why would they do that ?
If some one really likes you and are happy with your service, then why use a make up name? What are they hiding behind???? Fear of you ! or what you might say about them meaning the person that writes the review .If they can bash you with out using there name!!!what honour they must having . They are getting away with bashing your good name and all the heart and soul you give people day after day. I am I against reviews heck not . But some place like Google have reviews too. So does B&B reakfast and B and b.
There are so many sites that hold an area to go too. I NEVER send my guest their NEVER. I do send them to different areas. Guest what? I also explain to my guest why I am against this company. They are most surprised to find out how much it cost us to be apart of there company. How unfair there practice's are. Their remarks are wow I didn't know that! they thought every thing was free. I also asked if you had to pay to make a complaint or a good service remark would you go there.!!!!! I am sure I don't have to tell you the answerer to that !!!!

It is annoying! Whenever the place in 4th position gets 5 reviews in a couple of weeks, they knock us out of 3rd place.
I just try to stay above the ads.
I'm always amazed when guests say they used ta and we have such good reviews. I wonder if the inns in 1st and 2nd place are full!
