Help for a critter problem

So...I have this nasty squirrel...he/she is trying to rip apart my outside chair cushions to pull out the stuffing to make a nest!!! I know..a gun is probably the best thing but I don't want to resort to that.
Is there anything you might think of I could spray on the fabric to deter the critter????

Can you get a humane trap to capture it and just take it elsewhere? I don't know of any sprays, but I'm sure they make them.

I spray mine with vinegar to keep our young dog from having a party. It works.

I found this stuff...Critter Ridder. Think I will give it a try.

Might have to get some for the pitas!

We've tried critter ridder, it didn't work too well. There are three things we have tried that worked. One is a plant with jagged leaves that are green but yellow on the tip, that worked for our garden and we buy them each year. Don't know what the plant is.
Cayenne and black pepper work well. They don't like it on their hands or their mouths. Doesn't bother birds at all, so you can put it in bird feeders, even.
Deer Off - It smells when you put it on, but sort of dissipates. It's a mix of rotten egg, cayenne.
Shake Away - Fox urine capsules. Don't use outside of the city as it attracts foxes, but squirells, deer and rabbits don't want to be anywhere near it.
