And we're not even open yet...

Yesterday I was outside going back and forth between painting the house and staining some Adirondack chairs that my husband made in my paint stained cutoffs and neon green painting shirt, when a truck pulls up our drive. They got married here 13 years ago and just wanted to see what the property looked like now. Er, well, if you ignore the piles of rotten wood, yard trimmings and, oh, right, that old toilet over there, it looks great! Let them look around and they were excited that we are restoring the place (they said they had thought to come back for their 10 year anniversary but the bad reviews turned them off) so hopefully they will actually book once we are open. We even took all the old signs down, so the house looks like a private residence but they still come, just to look. Let's hope they keep coming to look once we get cleaned up and open.

yay! hope so. blog about all the renovations and your plans. folks love it. and then you HAVE to hold an open house so all the neighbors can come in and see what you've done.

If you haven't named all of your rooms yet, maybe you can do some type of contest to use in a PR piece that will allow people to vote on the name. Send it out to all of the local and regional and state papers. Setup your Facebook page and have people go there, like your page, and then vote on the name. The winner would receive a free stay.
