I'm probably getting a new computer. It doesn't look like MS has email readers that download the mail any longer. I don't want cloud storage. Any ideas on what email readers are any good?

Just make sure you have windows essentials installed and then use the built in Windows Live Mail. No big deal.

I use Thunderbird with my current g mail accounts and used it with the inn biz. Had the email go there from the same rez system as you. Has always worked well for me.

I"m still using Microsoft Outlook. I was amazed when I checked the About box that it's from 2007.
I thought it was much older ;-)

I didn't think it was available any longer. I'm using it, too, but was under the impression new computers don't have it or have the ability to load it.

May depend on what OS you'd be on? I still have MS Out look also but I'm back in a time warp on Vista. (Never bothered to do the update to Win dows 8.) I do use outlook for another email account that I strictly use for all my community involvement. Thunderbird is a piece of cake though.

According to msoutlook.info, the following versions of Outlook are officially supported on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit):
  • Outlook 2013
  • Outlook 2010
  • Outlook 2007
