Must be teh end of the "Season"

DH said to me, "Good news! We got a cancellation!"
Had to laugh. That was the first time a cancellation was 'good' news. But he's tired. It's been a heck of a year and tomorrow is our one year anniversary. So I guess he has every right to be tired. And if he's glad to have an empty room over the weekend, I'm glad for him.

Know the feeling!
We just booked our end of season vacation with our innkeeping buddies. Still 2 months away but it's a sign we're going to slow down a bit.

We are counting the days until our no guest day. He noticed we had no guests on our wedding anniversary, so he blocked off the whole house. We plan to eat every meal out and enjoy a day of golf. It better not flocking rain.

We're wide open this Tuesday. Fingers crossed. We never get our anniversary off. Foliage season. Dh has worked every birthday. Foliage season. I'm working my birthday this year. Start of shopping season.

Our schedule is a little bit different than many, but fall is a time we take a lot of time off. We will be closed a lot from now through November. Today we checked out a full house and we will be off for 9 days. Once we have a rest, we will be spending our time getting ready for two room upgrade projects that begin Sep. 10th. There is a brief stretch of being full in between the two.

Yup, us too. I blocked out a couple of days this week to give us a break, a few more next week and then we are full for a week or so. But then....we are off on vacation for a week up north. Ahhhh
