There's a light at the end of the tunnel... I can see it and it starts on Monday.... I had 4 nights left to sell in August... down to 3 and one is about to be the past. I can see the number of rooms diminishing as of Monday. For at least two week after labour day I usually have a small lull caused by the fact that the "alte kakers" as my father would have called them, don't want to pay my prices and I won't drop it for them because they are a lot of extra work. My occupancy was pretty much at a par with last August... over 95%. September is usually 25% less.
And so, I'm looking forward to getting things done. Are you?

Yes! Yippee Skippee. We are at 94% for August. Next two weeks in September about 57%. Picks up again after that.

So that is where all my guests went

Seriously, August is D-E-A-D down here in Hotville.
Finally calls are coming in for September when we usually start picking up again.

I don't even have that much, but we have learnt from the past that those coming from just south of us often don't book until the last minute. But it will fill up more later. :)

I currently have 2 nights (that is two) booked for Sept. Not worried - the phone does ring.......

same here. we go pretty quiet after labor day and then pick up in two weeks. October is weekends and then it's winter. Holidays, funerals and 'ditch the kids' weekends.

We just got two reservations for this weekend. Single nights each. Neither happy about the last minute rate. Reservations coming thru now for September but August is done.
This August not that good. Still ok. But we don't get over 80% occ. Which is ok by me.

I've had the highest occupancy ever for August since I've been in business. It's not even our busiest month. Good grief, no wonder I'm tired! Still have Sept and October to go.

Not a great August for me. We had someone book 2 rooms for 11 days 6 months ago and then cancel most of the days right at our cancelation date.

I was definitely not able to recover from that and it goes into early September. I'm not even full this weekend because I'm sure most people already made plans back when I was booked. I'm definitely going to change my cancelation policy around holiday weekends.

There was another thread about this issue this past week. https://www.innspiring.com/node/15323

85% occupancy in August and so far 93% booked for September. Looking forward to it being a little quieter in October.

We only had two empty rooms in August, so it's pretty much our best month ever, turnover we are well ahead of any other month in our 10 years.
After a very slow start to the year our totals are catching up to our averages, and bookings for Sept. and oct. are already good too.

Higher or lower than usual book ahead rate?

Last rooms in town. Higher.

Like last year, I had 3 rooms that had 100% occupancy. Crazy....
September is already a little quieter. The beginning of the month usually attracts more of an older clientele and they want either cheap prices or a house with no stairs. I'm neither... so they stay with Maddie.
