I'm often amazed how there are huge cities without a single innkeeper here. Whole states with no representative.

For just a moment I thought it might be me.

Then I got a nice email from an innkeeper with a SF recommendation.

I used to know a few here and there, but not in San Fran proper. An innmate on the forum along the coast prob 5 hours north is on my list. I hope that is who emailed you Haps, I would love to stay there. If you are on a road trip, I would head north to that seaside town.

Can't be me, I'm about a 12 hr drive north from SF.

And I'm 45 hour drive east by north-east from SF :)

I think Go og le Ma ps is a little optimistic on that one.. they say it's a little longer "in current traffic." I've done Reno NV to Keene NH in 48 hours (with a group of 4 or 5 drivers, stopping only for gas), and I've done Salt Lake City UT to New York NY in 36 hours (with just two of us).

Well, it always depends on many factors. But driving also can be influenced by where the roads go. The driving time to the west coast from here can be surprising.... with the shortest actually being driving to LA and the longest driving to Vancouver.
