Guest from last night, who is not staying tonight, is in my living room.
Sometimes circumstances are such that being gracious is the best thing to do.

Yawzer! You mean they were supposed to check out yesterday morning and are still around at 9 pm at night?

Yawzer! You mean they were supposed to check out yesterday morning and are still around at 9 pm at night?.
Yes. She finally left at 10. Terrible situation. Her friends had an emergency and she had to find a place to stay while they left town. Then their flight back was delayed. She's here without a car, in a foreign country, no place to go and no way to get there.
She stayed gone until it got dark and she was out of things to do. Apologized over and over.
For guests who think we don't do enough for them, there are times we go way beyond.

Absolutely. Poor woman. I hope any of us would have done the same...

Reminds me of when Bob had people snowed in at his place last winter and he had to come up with extra food, and worry about where the stranded people would sleep when that night's guests arrived and took all the rooms.
Luckily this above and beyond stuff is rare!
