I set up my Bo'kin account a few months ago, but I've been booked all summer due to some local businesses putting out of town visitors in all my units all summer.
Well, summer is over, I have availability again, and I just received my first Bo'kin reservation. The problem is that it has been so long since I set it up, I've forgotten how it works!
I have it set up so myallocator handles passing the availability back and forth between ResKey and Bo'kin and apparently it worked perfectly.
But who collects the money? I've forgotten. Has the guest already paid Bo'kin, and Bo'kin will eventually pass the money on to me, less their commission, such that I need to zero out the guest's account in ResKey?
If Bo'kin did collect the money, how do I know they included and will send me the sales tax? Because when I look at the reservation in Bo'kin it says this:
Total costs confirmed to the guest:
Room price USD 119.00
Excluded 11.75 % Tax USD 13.98
Commissionable amount USD 119.00
Commission USD 17.85
All the amounts are correct. But what does "Excluded" mean? Did they charge the guest $119 + $13.98 = $132.98? Does "Excluded" just mean they don't use the tax amount in calculating the commission?
Thanks. I'm in new territory here!

You collect the money, not bok'n. Yes, they don't charge commission on the tax. You will owe them the commission in the month after the guest stays. Either thru a check to them or they take it from your bank account, if you set it up that way.

Thanks! How do I get the CC number? Right now on the guest's reservation info screen it says
Credit card details
Credit card details can't be viewed until the reservation is confirmed
Do I have to do something to let bok'n know it's confirmed?

If you clicked a link in an email then they know you have confirmed it. Ah, I'm thinking that's not how you know you have a rez. Did you get an email? If you did, click the link. If you got this via fax or some other method, I don't know how to confirm the rez. There are help screens (not very helpful).
I'll log on and look around...

Interesting. Their help screen says you don't have to confirm the rez. 212-548-3599 this phone number works 24x7, unlike any local number you might have. Give them a call.

You might want to figure it out sooner rather than later. I just noticed I can no longer view cc details for guests checking in this week.

Hot Dog! All I got about the reservation from bok'n was a text message notification, but I did get a confirmation e-mail from myallocator. In that e-mail it has a line "click here to view all details of this booking on myallocator."
When I got to the booking on myallocator, it had a button: Show Credit Card Data
I clicked the button and it asked for my credit card viewing password. Luckily I'd saved that in my password vault, and it worked. I now have all the card info, including the "secret 3-digit code".
Also, I notice in the guest's reservation detail screen on bok'n that it says "Applicable Deposit Policy: 100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking."
It's a one night stay, so I get to charge the full amount right now! Great!
Thanks a million. I'm in business now!
...and too many exclamation points in this post for JB to tolerate ;-)
