Anyone have any helpful hints?
When the sun goes down they are out there on the wicker and railing etc, and doo dooing everywhere. No we don't have an owl out there, do those work, should we try it? They sit on the backs of the furniture on the arms and even underneath the rascals!

we used a big, colorful owl and also a rubber snake (shudder). yes, they do work.
we had to put two big rubber snakes in a swimming pool to keep the ducks from thinking it was a safe, little pond to swim in and nest around. cute to see them there, but what a mess they made and they were very territorial.
i once called the audubon society asking for help about blue jays dive bombing my head - they actually pecked a little chunk of scalp and hair off me. their solution? wear a hat. and for the dog? my old golden retriever who couldn't even get out to peacefully relieve herself in our postage stamp size yard? fasten a football helmet on her head. not kidding. wish i had pictures!

we have a tool shop on the corner sells large plastic owls and heron's (local pond bird that keeps off ducks) for this exact purpose sure they sell them on ebay.

Yeah I thought of cat too, but knew there would be guests complaining.

Friend of mine has a b&b on a river with a large lawn area. Geese are her problem. Pooping all over where there will be a wedding. She bought a statue of a wolf. Moves it around periodically. No more geese!

We are in a prime birding area....so we had our porch screened in. It is fully screened, from top to bottom so as to not interfere with the ocean view. We love it and no longer have barn swallows and finches nesting in every nook and cranny!
