A Google spokesperson has confirmed what many security experts had already suggested, that many of the passwords in question were likely taken from a website other than Google.
I certainly am not going to lose sleep over it.

No harm in changing ... I'm supposed to do it more often than I do anyway

Did any of you see the show where they were speed-dating and the one said "Where did you grow up?"
Oh really! I have an aunt from there...what was your mother's family name? etc. and went and cleaned them out (bank account passwords and info)
Why am I saying this? Don't use all that info, pet name, birthdays, etc. When I was at my cousins house in Calf I had to go back to the house and he said "oh no the alarm is on" I said I will work it out, it is either your daughter's bday or your anniversary. He was like, uh yeah that is about right.

And that is the reason that my Google password looks something like %7gudeX7e8$&o5$4 and I use LastPass. I have one really really long password to remember and type in. But after that, all my encoded passwords are randomly generated. And it says that it would take eons to figure out my password.

Same here. No more easy passwords for me. I use an iPhone password vault app that syncs with their website, so I can log on and get my usernames/passwords from either the phone or at their website via a laptop web browser.
I still hate the sites that FORCE me to use a certain password format, but mainly I hate the stupid security questions/answers they make you supply.

Was on the phone to my bank who wanted to ask a few security questions.
So off we start the process.
Bank : Do you work in a school ?
Me: No
Bank: Oh I can hear lots of children there.
Me: ( Big Laugh) No I operate a B&B and I have a family in the pool just now. I thought this was one of your security questions.
