I'm surprised by ours. I would beg to differ. Not one guest has ever gone gaga over that landmark when describing their trip of our state. Beautiful, yes...number 1? nah

I think most of them are not what you would guess, so I am quite happy with the list, myself. There are so many BIG attractions in every state. I like it.
Thanks Gillum.

And it's according to TA, not each state's dept of tourism. So it's what people review the most, not necessarily what brings in the most money or the most visitors.

I must say GA and IL made me wonder - HUH??? The BEAN? I have no idea what the heck they are talking about. I did what I call a 24-year sentence in Illinois and never heard of it - and DH who lived there for 54 years of his life never heard of it.

Don't think so. Yes, popular, but not the most popular. However, way closer to me than the really popular place.

Uhhh.... well .... kind of ... if you don't count the 200 other amazing things spread out over 9 islands.

Funny, the place listed for our state is near by and this is the first time I have even heard about it! They must have gathered up everyone they know and asked them to write a TA review. I would not put much faith in this article.

If they are sharing this all over, put that place nearby on your sites of interest and blog it baby.
A privately owned war memorial in my state is the biggest draw? Not even close, of course. We have the largest natural bay in the world, we have colonial out the wazzoo, revolution, civil war, mountains, the most traveled road, seashore, the home to more presidents, this that and the other.
So all in all this is very interesting, that is what it is. If you didn't know, and maybe no one else did either, so this is great. :)

Wow, I was surprised by this list for every State in which I've lived. I've heard of my State's attraction on this list but it's the top attraction? And the park that's supposed to be the top attraction for my prospective State...really?
cRaZy...I feel like this needs a fact check...

LOL Never heard of it. I might have guessed, "Boston." or more specifically, "the Freedom Trail."

So this is good, no? Instead of all the places you already know are tops? This is like me over here trying to get people to come here when they have beaches and theme parks and historic sites...come and see the "other big attraction" that no one knows about.

In our state we have 36 state parks, one of which is very well known and as the staff say "everyone loves it, it is loved to death" There is no need to mention it, people know about it, it is heavily visited.
I am on my own cloud over here...I guess when you don't have a tourist destination you see things differently. And YES I just responded to the HARO

This actually proves that we CAN make something an attraction. Anyone who says "we do not have anything to draw people here" is not looking around them. Open thine eyes! (yes that NEEDS an !) and actually see what is around you. I admit I had the advantage of "you ain't frum here is ya" to see it with "fresh eyes". On one of my turn-by-turn covered bridge tours I noted "FYI - on the right is the Sw iger Family Museum" and one of my guests was from that family through a female line. They stopped and it was open. There is something of interest to some one everywhere. It is up to us to Make our areas a destination.
