Reception & Awards

Today was the reception and awards and opening of the Art Show at the Cultural Center in Charleston. It is the First Annual sponsored by the Dept of Rehabilitation & the Cultural Center. All works entered were done by artists with disabilities. There was quilting, quilling, photography, paintings, all mediums and forms of expression. We knew in advance the purchase award as his paintings start far above the max of their budget. When we arrived, we were greeted by a lady we have known for years who used to work in Tourism and now works for Culture & History. She was holding one of the catalogs and was the one who told us DH won one of the Awards of Excellence (there were 3 in addition to the purchase award grand prize)

Wow! An amazing husband. I love the picture-mechanical detail in the bikes that you sit there wondering what's connected to what, but expression and clothing for the riders too. Love it.

The bike is an Indian and he is an Indian Factory rider - meaning the factory paid his expenses and him to race. Most riders, factory or not, wore clothing proclaiming the brand of their bike. Himself has a collection of BSA shirts he wears - from his BSA Owners Club.
Edited to add: there is a BSA Racing motorcycle frame in what is supposed to be ny living room (his studio now) - missing only the engine and the tranny.
