Hi,
I am interested in creating a booking system to be used in the InnKeeping world and was wondering if those who used these kind of system could advise on your feelings towards offline/online systems.
For example, does an offline system appeal in scenarios where your internet connection drops? How confident are you in your software providers ability to create backups of your data?
Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated :)

Good to see your original post back (if it was ever really gone...sometimes they get buried down the list and hard to find). Nothing more comes to mind other than the comments on https://www.innspiring.com/node/15579, but if you have specific questions I'm sure you'll get some answers.

Hi Jay,
Some of us use offline software as guest management systems, some use online that is incorporated in their reservation system. PCI Compliance is an issue and the reason most of us use online only. If the product is powerful enough with reporting features.
I am using ReservationKey and have been 100% onboard with it and do not plan on switching. The creator of this pgrm has been amazing at building features per our request and has made it the most affordable online reservation system out there.
Many of us had used other systems, and their was NO SUPPORT when needed most - the weekends! They had issues where information would be lost and they would basically say "tough" that program fyi was Webervations. Not from the get-go, it was fine, then another company bought it who really were not supporting their customers, us innkeepers.
I see no reason to even consider a new or different system. I want to be honest with you so you may pull those eggs from that basket and maybe see something else that is needed in our industry. All the best!

Hi, anyone willing to discuss?.

In reality, you probably are not going to get a lot of input here. This may be your first time finding a resource like the folks on this forum, but we have been through this multiple times before. It's difficult for us to spend time and energy educating you on what innkeepers need and in mostly likely hood the product is never completed or we're already happy with the product we are using already.
This is not our first rodeo...or second...or third...or...well, you get the idea. I don't mean to rain on your parade, I really don't. The best thing you can do is to do a search with the forum's search feature and read the threads that are already there on this subject.
Like many others here, I use Reservation Key. What I like about it is price point/functionality/customer service. Look at this system in depth. If you think you can do better for cheaper, then go for it.

I too have created my own online booking system / property management system. I've looked into marketing it but the honest truth is there are just so many out there already it's not worth my even trying.
