Just got some new sheets. They've been washed but they still feel a little scratchy. Any ideas for softening them up a little? I figure they'll do that on their own after a few more washes. Vinegar in the last rinse?

The three wash method...
  1. Wash with baking soda (full wash - removes acids)
  2. Rinse with 1/2 cup of vinegar (just rinse - removes bases)
  3. Wash again with soap and fabric softener (strongly suggest Gayn, which doesn't block absorbency.)
You could also try using something like dryer balls (Nellie's) that you use in the dryer. They speed drying too.

Check out dryer balls made out of wool. I was recently introduced to them and think they are great. Probably need to google it in to find them.

I've got a couple of these that live in the dryer.

I have a set of four, but I just bought these because they have a scent stick that you can put in the centre that makes the laundry smell nice :)
