Did nothing to report.
Checked in, were lovely
Had an early breakfast, didn't bother me a bit even with a special diet
Loved breakfast and, held hands at the table and laughed and enjoyed themselves
Found the card we left them, and the rose for their anniversary and took it
Left for the day, we freshened their room, nothing was destroyed, nothing a miss, towels were hung up, they made their bed
Going to a concert tonight at my recommendation after reading our blog, and have tickets waiting for them tonight per a phone call I made
Asked what time we head out to church in the am as they want to be sure they check out and give us time as a family to get there
...and that's all she wrote.
Nothing really to read here. Another day another dollar, nice guests like the majority we all have.
WHY, THEN?
Because some arrive at this forum and read drama and "assume" that we all have bad and difficult guests, we don't. But there is not really much to say about the non-drama, it is kind of boring.

Happy innkeepin' y'all!

I did not get photos of the breakfast I served Wednesday morning to my Vets - the ham slices in cupcake pans with egg in them. One of my guests made them and took a lovely photo (with platter and goblet of juice) that she sent to me with permission to post it on FB - which I did with credit to her. Yes, we have more of the great guests than PITAs.
We really DO need to acknowledge the lovely guests more often.

Guests here on a vacation package organized by their kids. I don't think they realize yet how much their kids have waiting here for them. All sorts of add-on s.
Called my mother today to chat and told her I didn't have any stories, everyone is having a wonderful time!

Yeah, pretty boring over here too. Lovely people, elopement, 3 different room service dinners delivered, picnic basket (they wanted to just stay in their room for 3 days) and lots of thank you's.
Couldn't get any better.

Yeah - I am afraid so, four glowing reviews came in this week. As usual, our heads were to big to get through the door. Another day in ..... Same ol' same ol'

We can write a whole thread here on the things guests didn't do. :) Btw they didn't go to the show, no skin off my back, they appreciated my setting it up. It's their getaway, not mine. Wish it were mine!

Last night I had a surprise birthday present for the wife - they live a max of 5 miles from here. I put one of the red foil covered chocolate roses on the bed for her and there is a candle in the center muffin on that plate. It must have been good - he paid cash and told me to keep the change.

Well, just when I thought I had something, our guests paid us and left a tip. Dang. Seems to be a trend lately.

Discovered this morning one Vet couple did not even sign the guest register. Nothing in the comment book either. They told DH this was the 4th year they have used the B & Bs F or V ets. The other couple made up for everything that one didn't - she even made the breakfast I did Wednesday at home and sent me a photo of it.

Obviously the word is getting out about the Vets program - that is a great thing. Every time I see someone in uniform (military & cops since many cops are Vets) or wearing something that indicates military, I ask if they have heard of it. Getting the word out is good. I hope we all spread the word.
And thanks for the slap up the side of the head - good triumphs and we are so fortunate to get good to great.

Truck drives in last night a little after 10:00pm. Wants a room. I usually don't do that late of a check-in but I was in a good mood and heck, it's the slow time here so I could use the bucks. Sold them the less expensive room since most of the time folks who find us on the road at the last minute usually want cheap. Once they filled out the reg form, I told them we also had a larger room with a double whirlpool tub and a wood burning fireplace. They upgraded. I had to start the fire for them since they were city slickers who had never had a fireplace before. No problem.
They check out on time and I'm a couple hundred bucks happier.
Yup, all's good!
