From JB - for those who think you can jusy open an inn anywhere, this is why we propose buying a turn-key B&B, which is established and grandfathered in inspected and approved to operate!

Oh yeah, most of my guests bring 2 or 3 ATVs with them. They've had to repave the street in front of my place 4 or 5 times due to the increased traffic I've generated. ;-)

For sure. Wouldn't want anyone to discover their town, spend time and money there, generate some business. Better give that to someone who would appreciate it. Insert sarcasm at any point.

This is why we keep telling newbies here to do their research. Just because they see a need they can fill by opening xyz business in their town doesn't mean anyone else in their town wants any new business to open.
It sounds like they don't have a master plan for growth in that town and it's all been willy nilly and people are tired of it.
And because there's no plan or the plan wasn't thought thru, they got business they didn't want.

I think my town had the most bizarre reason for turning down my zoning request ... "She's going to fix up that house and then try to sell it for a profit" Had to go back a second time in January when 2 of the members were replaced. Still only got approval by 1 vote.
