Hi! We just opened our B&B last summer and this is our 1st Christmas. Since we have guests for the winter months I was wondering, how long does everyone usually leave up Christmas decorations? Mid January or take them down sooner? Thanks!!!
PS - we are up in Montana so outside garland and Xmas trees etc will last till summer if we let them. LOL!

:welcome:
I'm in Arkansas and my garland lasts longer than summer. It's quite fake, but the good kind of fake.
I leave the decorations up until about January 15.

Mine come down Jan 7 - after Russian Christmas. That is assuming I DO get them up. Held off digging out the Christmas tub due to the "musical beds" and tossing everything and anything in that storage room - it is buried. Then I was told I was getting inspected - tomorrow. I told the inspector no, I will not be here tomorrow so it was arranged for Tuesday (I passed) and I did not want any extraneous matter hanging about. (We talked a lot about old houses - his is 1884 and mine a youngen at 1912. Comparing problems and renovations.) Tomorrow is dig out the tub day and bake cookies for the Church carol sing tomorrow night.

Last year it was April before the exterior decor came down. We definitely leave it up for Valentine's day.
Indoor comes down ASAP after Christmas day as it's been up for 4 weeks at that point. Usually Jan 2 or 3.

We leave outside lights up through February because winter is dark. Lights are pretty.
The trees and inside décor generally comes down the first week in January. This year, we are hosting the innkeepers' association meeting January 13 and decided to leave the decorations up for the meeting.

I've been looking at the decorations since November, but the arriving guests haven't seen them yet, so I like to leave them up a while after Christmas. Extends a happy season.
That, and I hate the chore of taking them down, and put it off as long as I can!
