I'm filing this under cry, laugh, vent because it's all of those. Without long, boring detail I have been trying to get a refund on an overcharge at a hotel.
Finally spoke with a manager today and he was confused as to why I wanted a $10 refund on a night we were no shows.
Huh? We added a night to our stay. The clerk on the phone opened a new reservation. The clerk at the front desk added a night to our other nights. Thus, we appeared to have 2 rooms, one which we didn't show up for.
Now I have to check my cc statement for the charge for the no show.
 
What a pain. Hotels are notorious for this type of thing and the manager should be able to see what happened and straighten it out. You may have to battle this one through your CC co. which is unfortunate.

Just looked at my cc statement and we were charged for the phantom room we no showed for. (Sorry, horrible grammar.)
So another call to the hotel.
 
This is the pain dealing with people who 'only work here' and not the owner themselves.

Now on a first name basis with the GM. Am supposed to call direct when I need a room. Should have been there this weekend but didn't want to drive in snow.
