"CAMP in a T E S L A for the most unique stay possible. The T E S L A will be your "Private Room" but you still get access to a kitchen, TV room & bathroom/shower."
sleep in a car/trunk? creative but ... nah, not for me.

Likely illegal. You can't park and sleep on the public roads and I doubt that the Condo HA has allowed the car to be on their private property as a residence.

good one ... car as residence. unreal.

I can not believe someone would be desperate enough to do this. In Phoenix, no less? How could you possibly sleep without the AC running all night? Pretty sure he's not going to give you the keys to come and go and run the engine all night. This has got to be a joke.

When a TESLA is plugged in (charging) everything about the car draws power from the plug, not the batteries. So you could run the AC all night and use no battery power.
That's one of the cool (or warm) things about the car. You can program it from your iPhone to come on 30 minutes before you go for your drive, to cool itself in summer or warm up in winter, and it uses no battery. Uses the house power, so costs just pennies.

Arks ... Sounds like you've been reading up on Teslas. There's a bet going on that Arkansas will be the last state in the continental US to get a Tesla Supercharger. Here in the midwest the people who recognize a Tesla are mostly well-read, so I have great conversations with total strangers .. at the bank, the post office, in parking lots. I confess, a Tesla came to live at my house this fall. You're invited for a visit and a test drive, especially if you promise not to pay me back for the shenanigans that certain road trippers left in their wake last winter.
Tesla is building a network of high voltage quick charging stations called Superchargers along many of the Interstates, so that you can charge a couple hundred miles of range in 40 minutes. But until the network is complete, some adventurous owners who can't wait for all the Superchargers to be built and still want to go on long trips have made use of the 240 volt plugs at RV parks, which add about 30 miles of range for every hour of plugging in. When you fold the back seat down there is enough room for a twin aerobed, the 12V plug in the car that can be used to inflate it, and the climate control keeps you comfortable on the inside, without even fogging the windows. And you wake up with a full battery.
More and more hotels are providing overnight charging, and especially those of you who are in the process of adding bathrooms, remodeling and refurbishing and are paying an electrician anyway should consider adding a charging station.
I have a 240 volt plug in my garage for me and in the parking lot for my guests. Haven't had any electric car visitors, and might not, because there are 4 superchargers in a 70 mile radius from here, but it's a cool amenity to offer anyway.
PS Word has it that the guy on Air also lists his Tesla on Uber (like Air but for taxi service). Just another way to make his car payment, I guess.

We're getting a charging station a mile from here. I'm going to ask the guy who put it in and see what's involved.

I took note of your Prius. My Tesla was set to arrive early Feb., but now it's delayed to late March. I've been driving the same car since 2002, so I'm due a treat!
Yes, when you look at the area of the country to be served by superchargers in the next year, Arkansas is a big, lonely desert. We will no doubt be the last state to get one (except for Hawaii, which doesn't count because the cars have the range to completely circle even the biggest island).
Mine will get me to Memphis, drive around all day, and get me home on a single charge, so I'm happy! And I noticed that the Memphis airport parking garage now has multiple free chargers, so I could plug in and have a "full tank" when I return from my trip. It's only going to get better.
That being said, I filled my 2002 car up the other day for $30, so that's pretty good too!

Well, I live in a bubble. I've never even heard of a Tesla. No clue. All of you know, and I sure feel like an idiot! :D

Don't feel badly. I only learned about them when Innkeep was waiting for hers.

There is only one problem with innkeepers who drive Teslas...they need to hit the road and visit JB. Once they do that, then that problem will be solved.

Can we who still driving gas hogs come too? Or is this just for the elite in Teslas? And what's the date for the gathering, I think I missed that information?!?!?
