AWESOME FOOD PHOTOS WITH ANY CAMERA: 11 TIPS
from the best of the best, Jumping Rocks
Excerpt
n case you haven’t noticed, food is HOT! And if you own an inn, bed and breakfast or hotel where food is an important part of the experience, you need great pictures to entice potential guests and to let them know what to expect. It’s still shocking to us how many bed and breakfast websites have no pictures of breakfast! Keep in mind that breakfast is a big differentiator between a traditional B and B and a hotel or vacation rental. If you are doing it, FLAUNT IT! ...

I particularly like the video. He said one thing about food temp..he likes room temp and I think JR said hot. whatever works :)

Bookmarked it - thank you for posting the things you post

Love it! I find my best tools are creative cropping and my one light fixture that does a nice warm overtone.
I love the idea of parfaits in jelly jars.

You know funny you mention that, I met a woman who had made them as gifts to people and was shocked and disturbed that I was not doing this at the B&B! She told me so. Now she had some neat concoctions, I will admit, with all sorts of grains and nuts. But I said, I would never be able to do it here. Too difficult to eat. People wouldn't go for it. Ans the last thing I wanted was something swallowing small pieces of chipped glass from the lip of them.

There is only one that I don't think was the best, and that is saying a lot because everything these guys do is the best! I was put off by the flat cold looking bacon. You probably saw it too and thought the same. The one thing, and bacon being such a huge deal right now, my eye zeroed in on it. ...oops was not on that link, was here.

.
I think it's cute but... openings are too narrow, jars are too big. We serve parfaits in wide, small, glass containers. Half the food of those photos and easy to get at.
Still. It's cute!

Hate flat bacon. Absolutely have to curl it up for photos.

JB you share the best stuff.
We do need to share more about our delish. food. (repeating this in my head so it sticks)

When has it not? lol If we could only find a way to get that smell through the screen!

I think the HOT part was quoted from the article and they meant HOT as in "IN"...you know...all the rage.

Only if you have an iphone 6 I think. Mine has all sorts of adjustments I never had on my 4

ah, i have a 5.1 my son gave me and it has some camera tools on the screen side i need to investigate just to see what they're about. (the 'kids' were not happy that i was not up to date. i was content with my prepaid so-called smart phone but it cut out all the time and had one touch key for 3-4 letters and a number so it took ages to text .... now that i have an iphone it is totally different. signals all over even when the power goes out - amazing range - amazing free apps - i had no idea)

Love those pictures, especially for the fact that they lack clutter. Thanks for posting them.

I have the Camera+ app on my iPhone - had it on my older model and now have it on my 6. The app is inexpensive and lets you control a few more settings but beyond exposure and focus I don't have any clue.
I saw that article and was inspired to take a few pics using some of their tips - no flash, natural light, height. The two I put on facebook are here.
