Been thinking about y'all. If the house holds together and the electricity stays on, all will be well! Good luck!

I am so sick of listening to weather. They have everyone here in an uproar and it all passed by us today. Feel sorry for those in NE and who knows what tonight will bring. But for now... I am going out! :)

At work in the city. Taking the early train home (with a bunch of rowdy, defensive Pats fans!)
I had planned to stay all day but the storm coverage is making me nervous.
We are stocked up. Gas in the generator, firewood in the house, wine in the fridge.

Got the snowshoes out, shovel by the door. Going out later for the only thing I need - chocolate milk.
This is forcing me to get some work done. Good thing.

Around here, no matter what... life goes on. Even record snowfalls don't stop us. But I have admit that days like this, bring out the schadenfreude in us.

Good luck to my fellow NE innmates.....this one looks like quite a storm!
News update over here! We have been under the weather physically and now...snow has been falling since 9:30am but hasn't covered the ground completely. Cars are all parked together tightly to leave room for the plow to move around. Our new plow guy is supposed to come over today and tomorrow. My uncle and Morgan are coming over to shovel our walkways after they are done with my uncle's place. The heat is roaring away....the nursing home in the area sent a man over to talk about using us for a place for their nurses to crash tonight if needs be....So you have to take the good with the bad. So far so good! Keep warm!

Sounds like something we might expect from an alter kocker.
Perhaps all that weather news is bupkis
I'm whippin' out the lexicon dictionary to keep up with you.

Thinking of you all! Just be glad you aren't in the south, it gets crazy here when it snows!
The good thing here is, it's usually gone the next day!
Stay warm!

Good luck to all of you. We started out with rain. After breakfast we made a provisions run (veggies for Himself for soup before I go to Charleston this weekend. Had rain then about 30 min of huge flakes. Roofs and cars have a coating of snow @ 4:40 PM but the temps are holding warm enough - so far.
I feel sorry for the family here. One brother heads back to Georgia, one over I-68 to Maryland (not nice in the best of times in winter) and the rest of the family is going to New Hampshire for the burial - via near Philly to pay respects to an aunt/s-i-l who died same day as Priscilla. SHE is being flown to Boston. I hope they ALL get there at close to the same time as I hear many flights are already cancelled.

House bound. No guests, but the innkeeper in us couldn't be kept down. We made ourselves waffles with bacon and waffle toppings including whipped cream, strawberries and bananas, nuts, coconut, maple syrup and yogurt. We had a feast.
Not going anywhere soon. Sideways snow, big waves, drifts. No damage that we can see.
Best to anyone caught in the storm.

Might be an interesting watch and some reading for a snowy day:)

Fortunately we have ways of monitoring conditions remotely! Here you can see the wind changed direction and picked up speed around 9 pm last night, just as the barometer started to drop. Today lots of blowing snow (blizzard), although visibility is a little higher right now compared to earlier this morning.

We are still doing well here, haven't lost electricity which I am very thankful for. The nursing home in the area has all our rooms rented for the storm. Snow blowing like crazy and the night shift nurses are sleeping while the day shift works. Then they will swap places after I change sheets and towels. Trying to be quiet.

well, duff, that's awesome. my daughter in law is an ultrasound technician and must sleep in at the hospital through tomorrow evening. she's been there since monday morning. she sleeps on a cot in the office, not cozy!

Very glad some good has come from the storm. And as one who has been stuck at work, I am certain the nurses are very grateful. They landed in a wonderful place.

Been thinking about all my innmates in the NE.
At least it makes for some beautiful photos.
Wishing you all warmth!

So glad to hear that. May ALL of those in NE be able to say the same.
Thanks to the salting this morning, I still have sidewalk showing - no guests booked and we have food. I do not NEED to go out until Saturday - to cash today's paycheck (received at the Council meeting last night) and keep a hairdo appt, and cover Chapel duty for our minister and myself. Please cross fingers Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday will be good as Himself will be on his own until I get back.

Not sure Silverspoon can say the same. They may be in for a cold dark night!
