Putting out new towels today.
It's the little things that bring a smile to the innkeeper's face.
What little thing that you have in your inn brings a smile to your face when you see it?

Anything new does it for me. But even at that I try not to get too excited because it is guaranteed that during the first month of use the new items will be stained, torn, or discolored. Fact. Of. Life.
But for now, while the inn is empty, I am enjoying the slant of light that streams through the new shutters we installed last winter in the dining room and living room. They are just perfect....and they are not as prone to distraction as towels, rugs and upholstered items.

My pot of chives that seems to be thriving in the dining room - as chilly as it is in there. FRESH chives for the egg bakes. And when I look in the now almost empty cabinet (dolls went to Toys For Tots) and see 3 hand-carved dolls made by my late m-i-l that we now own thanks to people who did a Goo search on her name and found us. We just got the 3rd one so now have one for each daughter.

I put flowers out on the tables for Valentines Day. They were inexpensive, supermarket flowers. Our guest stopped on her way out to say, "I need to take a picture of your flowers!"
I was so pleased. Something we did was noticed and appreciated.
