Has anyone experienced a yellow/greenish stain on white hand towels? I think it is contact lens solution and I don't know what to use to get it out......any ideas?? Thanks

I dont think it is contact solution. everyone i ever used is clear and i have never had any staining from mine and i have used for 40 years

If it was in the driveway, I might say Prestone. But there are so many things it could be.

ah, mystery stains. could be benzoyl peroxide (for acne/blemishes), could be tooth whitening gel. could be any number of personal care products. so many possibilities.

Yup! We got two towels that had that color appear. No luck in getting it out. So they are now our own personal towels.

Try Murphy's Oil Soap. Pout on, rub a little, and wash. That is my go to for every stain. Works 90% of the time or better. Worth a shot.

Isn't it an oil base? Or is that just the name? I thought it might stain clothes. How do you do it? I would like your secret weapon against stains!!

Dawn dishwashing liquid takes almost every stain out as well.
Get fabric wet, rub in dawn, throw in wash. If using the blue one, wash immediately as the blue stains.
Even the store brand works.

I have no idea why it works, it just does. I wet the stain. pour it on, give a slight rub and toss it in. Berry and wine stains turn blue on contact and are gone when the washer stops. I once found a felt tip pen (they were called Flair pens in the 70s) in the dryer with a load of kids clothes. It had been in the pocket of middle son's yellow shirt and the GREEN pen had gotten all over a red dress of one of the twins. Son was handed his shirt, his sister's dress, Mother Murphy, and a toothbrush and banished to the counter top in the bathroom. Everything came out except a tiny bit on the stitching of the pocket. A mystery stain - after many tries of many things and many times - on the bowling shirt of a teammate that was quite obvious, faded to almost unnoticeable after I told her to try Murphy. I used it to get the grease out of my uniforms when I was a tire buster at Sears.

Actually, the new Dawn Platinum is fantastic for stains. And it even gets the Pam residue off of pans.

Thank you! Never would have thought of it. You learn something new each day! Now I'm ready for the next stain!!!!! Thanks Guill! Mort and Jon too!

Not sure for this, but there are some stains that respond to WD40 when nothing else will. For example when whiteboards get used a lot and build up that colorful film of many dry erase markers, cleaners sometimes just refuse to work, but WD40 does a marvelous job.
