Okay, seriously, how many of us ever have lunch at lunchtime?
I just finished my rooms. Okay, I had extra work caused by the fact that someone decided to "try" to be helpful and folded my towels... wrong. Three "emergency" towels were mixed in, the piles, by size were mixed and such. But it's 1:45PM and it's the first time that I can even think of having lunch. What about you?

This is off season for me. Slow. If we don't have anyone staying over, I'm doing stuff in my jammies with a couple of cups of coffee, eating a late breakfast and then just having supper. No lunch.
When it's busy, I ask "what's food?" I consciously have to stop and eat because I'm wondering why I feel faint.
Who says you need three meals a day?

I eat breakfast at 10 am. By 1 pm, when we're done cleaning, I'm ready for lunch. That's my usual schedule.

But wait, don't you want to let guests check in early? That's what aspiring & newbie innkeepers sometimes don't understand.
On busy days, coffee usually is all I have until 1:00 or 2:00.

You get coffee???????

We are in the middle of three weeks at 100%. We eat what we serve, so breakfast is after the last plate goes out. It can be an in and out meal depending on who is doing what and when.
Lunch is typically something simple that includes a whole grain or bran. We do mid day smoothies when there is a collection of fruit parts gathering up. PB and homemade jam on homemade whole grain bread with a small glass of soy milk is a favorite and fast.
Dinner is often dictated by what we are serving, but we have really tried to clean that act up so it will be good for us. Since we now only do a three course meal on Saturdays, we don't feel as guilty about having a little dessert or homemade ice cream then. On Pizza night, we have begun eschewing our homemade crust in favor of some sauce and toppings on corn tortillas. By themselves they are a whole grain with no added fats.

Lunch? What's that?!? The first person gets up and start making breakfast, the second person gets up and comes down with the idea that the first one can take a break (doesn't always happens) while the second one takes care of the guests in the Dining Room and early checking out. After breakfast we eat our breakfast. (10am) Then on to check out at 11am, cleaning the rooms, shopping, etc. We grab a snack. Check in comes in. We eat our meal around 7pm. First person goes to bed while second person stays up till 11pm for guests needs. We change out on who is first and second.

I finally rewarmed some rice and a sausage from yesterday and brewed a nice lungo for myself.

I'm always second. I'm the night owl.

I am usually last in and required to be first up. Sigh

Breakfast is always last when both sets or guests have eaten and now we wait till they are going to leave so we squeeze in breakfast then. One piece of toast , yogurt, fruit or juice and Coffee! Then one set of guest leave so we run down and start cleaning. After that the next suite is ready for cleaning . Then run to town and do marketing maybe have time for lunch around 2pm or 3 pm. Then rush home for new guest arrive at 3:30 or 4;00ish? Supper is usually around 8 or 9 PM. Then it is a salad usually, as by then I am beat and don't feel like making supper. Some times I have time to throw things in the slow cooker and supper is ready for when we get time to eat it. Then some times it is too late and neither of us feel like eating that. Hahaha. So then a salad takes care of that and maybe a glass of wine!

I hate taking the time to make something for lunch. I love it when there are leftovers from dinner that I can just reheat.

I have to eat or I get beyond cranky. I can stop to eat..
DH makes us oatmeal for breakfast while I prepare guest's food. He eats his immediately and I nibble when ever I have a spare minute. Lunch, always a salad with protein, is at 2:00pm. We never accept early check-ins so even when we have a full rotation I stop to eat at 2. Usually the 3 suites/cottage are cleaned and set up by then, with just laundry left to do and we try to stagger our scheduled check-ins if possible.
If we don't eat we just can not get through the day and start figuring out ways to get out of the business. That is just not a good way to think so, although it is not always convenient...at 2:00 pm we eat and relax for a few minutes before greeting guests.

That sure was my thought.. you have to have time for yourself and that should include the basics like eating. I would have to change my handle otherwise.

ours is either 11am lunch as we are starving or 2pm because all the other stuff got in the way!
