Hey guys, I would love to get some feedback on your thoughts of a new hotel/B&B website template that I plan to offer properties in the near future. There's still a few parts to it that's not working yet. But you can still get the general idea of the look and feel.

There are already a number of wordpress templates for this sort of thing. Given the complexities involved - such as all the hacking into Target, Home Depot and many others, and with credit cards and client data involved, and the fact a business hangs on it, I would be far less likely to trust anything that is not broadly popular and thoroughly vetted.
Who knows if there isn't malware embedded in the code? Most people using templates are unsophisticated either towards this or other potential problems.
I certainly would not touch anything sentd from someone I don't thoroughly know (even then, unlikely), especially if it is not on one of the primary template sites.

Yes there are plenty of wordpress templates for hotels, but this isnt a wordpress template
This is made by me, so it wont have any "malware" as you say it
The website doesnt handle credit cards, its just a website. I just wanted your opinion on its design.

1) Why is "designed by you" any assurance it will not have malware??? I had friends who owned a small news agency for decades. And turns out an employee had embezzled over $200K from them over 15 years. They knew her well, but that was no assurance.
2) As for credit cards, most B&B owners will have some form of payment method - plugin, payment service, whatever, so of course it will have access to credit cards and other payment methods.

Are you a troll?
I asked for input about a design of a website....
Can you prove a negative?
What's does your friend have anything to do with website design?

You asked for feedback on something you plan to offer to properties. I gave you realistic feedback on trying to do this. Your reassurance was very odd and unrealistic. I am not the one trying to sell something. Why don't instead respond professionally?
Are you going to go into a funk every time someone asks you a question unrelated to "is it pretty?"

Hi Evan,
While your website template is a different style from my own, we are a small mom and pop business in the country rather than an uptown hotel, I think it looks nice, clean and attractive.

i think it's fine as a starter template. Guests like to see pictures. Rooms, breakfasts, common areas, sites to see.

I love how it looks. Very "uptown". Sadly I am a country mouse...

It's very simple and only 1 page. Better than not having a website at all, but not comprehensive enough for a hotel or b&b.
A site like this will not make google happy I'm afraid. There's just not enough seo or 'marketing' that can be added to 1 page.

Hey guys thanks for the feedback, really appreciated!
I have a few things to think about for my other templates, these include
Menu's, attractions page, more traditional feel, multi pages.
I see your point on SEO as this is a one page design, but if you don't offer any services apart from rooms i.e. wedding ceremonies, restaurant, meeting rooms then one page design is great and it's great for conversions.

I think that one-page templates are more suitable for hostels, not for hotels and surely not for B&Bs.
B&B websites have feelings, the owners put a lot of thought into their websites, which they develop and tweak for years and years. A one-page template is good for businesses that themselves work as "templates", which I think hostels are :)

Hey Jim, Looks like I need to work on a modern country version, thanks for your input

Nice work!
My only thoughts are to remove any white space that hinders the flow of your eyes on the page. Maybe make it a bitter smaller, ie smaller google map. I didn't look at more than the homepage, but it looks attractive.

The home page was it. New modern style. Which is fine in some cases. Just depends on your place and your market. Could add more even if only one page. Everyone is doing it these days. Just looked again and he has added a page :) Actually I like it. Though I might pick a more appealing hero photo.

That's very clean and sharp. I like it. Now rethinking my own site. Everything you need to know is on one page. That doesn't mean you can't have additional pages with more detail.
