This is a Good GA feature to know about, but unfortunately it only works on known bots. Just the past week there have been a number of new ones showing up. It's like whack-a-mole, but here's a method to fine tune and eliminate each one specifically:
In Google A, Go to Admin Tab
Select: All Filters
Then +New Filter
Filter Name: Whatever you wish
Filter Type: Predefined
Select FilterType:Exclude
Select Source: Traffic from ISP Domain
Select Expression: That Contain
ISP Domain: worstseobotever.com
Apply Filter to Views
Save
And/Or Version Two
Filter Type: Custom: Exclude
Filter Field: Select Field: Referral
Filter Pattern: obnoxiousbot.com
Apply Filter to Views
Save
I usually do both and by the next cycle, they are no longer appearing and distorting results

I personally hate these referral spammers, did you know that they don't even have to visit your website to do it either?
They pretend that they are using your site by faking some technical stuff and contacting Google analytics directly using your tracking number, so if you think of blocking them access to your website then its all a bit pointless.
Why do they do this? It's purely so you visit their website because they send you traffic.
I wish google would have an easy button to block their data from view.

Not so true. Using my method below to individually block specific offenders works for me 99.999% of the time.

Your way is a great way of blocking them from google analytics, I meant it was a bit pointless to block them on your own website as they don't actually visit your page.
Sorry if I wasn't clear on that part
