We just got an email to all innkeepers from the chamber of commerce telling us the prom dates for the surrounding towns. I guess we have been given responsibility to 'screen' our guests for age of consent or something.
For me, it's a nice heads up to avoid parties.

I finally told our friends this story a few years ago - about 30 years AFTER the fact.
I was working as relief night audit (the night auditor thought he died & went to heaven as weekends was the only time I could work) and it was Prom season. The oldest daughter of Himself's best friend came bouncing into the lobby about 2 AM. "Hi, Mrs. P, do you have any rooms?" My reply, "Yes, but not for you." "Oh, OK, see you. Bye"

I wish our chamber would do that. I had a call for a prom room where the guy wanted to put 21 people in the room. At least he was honest.
And another teen who came by to look at the rooms. I asked if she was coming to town for a wedding. Oh no, the prom.
Fat chance.
Sure it's none of my business as long as you can pay, but I just feel squeamish about kids who haven't even graduated yet booking rooms.

Hats off to your chamber.
I had to look all ours up on the school boards website. This after getting a phone call that got my flag up, along with all the FB posts of kids going to look for prom dresses.

LOL, I always give the kids an answer that really isn't true - "we don't rent to anyone under the age of 21". Now I can only hope that the kids don't get their parents to make the reservations, ugh
