"Spanking me before I made a mistake" A.M.
I LOVE ANTHONY TOO!
"This is a hotel, this isn't a prison" A.M.

He is great - saw at least 8 episodes. But he is also whiny, falling apart at the sight of a condom, bug or dirty floor...
I also watch Restaurant Impossible and a couple others.

TV drama. Although I think he probably is like that in real life, that is why we love him, right? I want to volunteer to be his side kick on upcoming seasons Anthony Melchiorri pick me! I need some laughs, and some of these places have them in aces.

He puts his hands on his head in disgust/amazement and goes ballistic more than anyone I know on the telly...

Every once in awhile scouts from these shows come on this forum looking for new owners who want to share their experience or older properties that need improving. Don't sign up. The entire show is designed for drama. Cut here, dub there, nothing is as it happened.
If he walked into the hotel room and said, 'good job,' everyone would change the channel.
There was nothing wrong with that hotel as it was, other than the lists. The view was of the parking lot, who was he kidding? There was no place to sit to enjoy the view. The room was basic hotel. It was probably half the price of others in the area.
But it has to be about the drama.
And, yes, the lists were absurd. He should get worked up about those. But everything else? Drama.

The Restaurant Impossible guy is somewhat similar. The theory is that they redesign the entire restaurant on a budget for $10,000 in 2 days. Imagine that compared to what it really costs.
Then, it turned out there was a craigslist (?) ad asking for volunteers to help to rehab a restaurant, and it turned out to be that show.
In other words, it is a $10,000 budget if you don't count labor...

Well, haven't seen the show, only the clip someone posted the other day, and well, I finally purchased the black light flashlight.
I figure someone else will eventually bring their own. Better beat 'em to the punch. :)

We have a new series of Hotel In spector starting this week with Alex Poliz zi, she's great too.

which one did you get and is it working?

I know you also have to get the orange glasses to look through when you use the black light.
I got a good blacklight flashlight and the glasses and really can tell much with it. I think the light Anthony uses on TV is much more powerful. Chances are slim that a guest will arrive with one powerful enough to see anything. I'd say save your money.

The urine must be dry to see it in the light. The room must be dark. You can see the florescence from the salts from the dried deposits. We purchased because of a tenant who left an unattended cat in her apartment for many days. We needed photographic proof of damage. Another story, but the black light will come in handy for cleaning checks too. Yep it works, the price was right, and the shipping time was less than 48 hours. Oops, I guess I outed myself by not checking which name replying under. Oh well. :)

I hopped right on that and ordered it. I want to catch stuff before someone brings a blacklight with them, trying to catch us in the act, blah.

Oh and Arks is right about more powerful versions out there. Try googling CSI black light, but prices are higher for those. The $14 model does the job for me. I have yet to use it for the rooms. I'll try and let you know tonight.

Works better if you have the tinted yellow glasses for this. Walk into the bathroom and you will quickly learn why you have to wash down the front of the toilet bowl...

Did any of the UK brethren catch this weeks Hotel Inspec tor with teh Dutch couple in Tor Quay?
Did you say "OMG that's awful" for the big reveal of the dinning room. It looked like a kids playgroup.

Not in the UK but I saw it. I thought that it was interesting that Alex's suggestions were about how to make things easier for them and not that they hire someone on to help them.
