I sent Tesla an email, see what happens. I have a great spot for EV parking. Red dot is 50 feet from a 400 A panel (photo not working)..

I did the same and then I found the application for it. Filled that out too and the little blurb after submitting said that they will only be in touch if they think that our destination is of interest to them. We will see.

How much does it cost to charge such a car and who pays for this - are you offering this as a freebie or is this an add-on?
Where does one get hooked up with such a charging station?
First I went to http://www.teslamotors.com/supercharger to see where the Super Charger stations were in relation to me. THEN I went to
https://teslafactory.wufoo.com/forms/q7b8imo1g0og2v/ and filled out the form.
I had a great location because of the distance between where the super chargers are and my proximity to the Interstate. You may be in a great location too with major routes or even if you are in Podunk, it might be the perfect place between here to there places. Once I filled out the form, they contacted me and then I located an electrician for a quote which I submitted to them to show I was serious. Now things are being started on their end and I have the building permit in process. I opted to get both the Tesla AND the Universal chargers.
And I am trying to get everything DONE before our building inspector retires June 30. From what our building inspector has told Council when they asked for a recommend for replacement WV Legislature gave the building inspection Rule making to a Commission that has everything x-rated up. So I am pushing to Git 'er done!
To answer the question about charging doe it - I will be listed as registered guests only - Free. IF someone is in a world of hurt, I would probably give them enough charge to get to a super charger - and might consider a small fee for the service.

crossing my fingers for you to get it done at warp speed.
I know we are in a fantastic location for such a thing. First we have the destination. People who come to this area are "higher educated", granola eaters who hike and bike and tramp through the woods, up and down the dunes, drink craft beers, eat expensive foods, etc
So cross your fingers for me. I am excited about the possibilities.

Definitely push your location - that is what they are looking for and the most important part. If you are too close to a super charge they may decide it is not needed. That is why I said to locate them first. Cite how far you are from them.

Very interesting.
my town has two electric town vehicles (not Teslas) and has installed an electric charging station
No one else can use it - not for a fee - no go. And it's a tourist town so I'm thinking some bright minds will install their own charging stations.

Yep, I did that. There are only 2 stations even remotely close to us BUT now, after sleeping on it, I am worried that they accept my application and that would mean that someone might want to stay but only for 1 night. I don't like "1-nighters".
If I don't accept this thing, they might approach someone else here, and that would hurt my pride, LOL

You control all that. You can specify that the charger is only for registered guests, and you can specify that you have a 2-night minimum stay, or whatever.

Woot, I got an email with details about installation today. I am excited. Now to find the perfect spot to put this station.

I've contacted them 3 times in the past month and NO response! This is getting frustrating..
This may be why. There are a lot of them in your area already -

The fact that they seem to respond more quickly to places where they don't have many installed already lets us know that they're actually reading the requests and thinking about it. I like that!

Well, maybe I should rethink contacting them. There's one 20 feet from my house.

This is what I have from Tesla regarding their offer for a free charger. Dedicated circuit breaker means the Tesla charger is the ONLY thing connected to that circuit.
Tesla is able to offer you one free Tesla Wall Connector (Tesla Connector) so long as the following requirements are met:

1. The connector is installed on a minimum 40-amp dedicated circuit breaker.
2. The property agrees to be published on our Find Us page (www.teslamotors.com/findus) and be listed as "Available for patrons.”
3. The property agrees to pay for installation of the connectors and ongoing electricity (an average installation cost is about $1,500 per station and ongoing electricity expense at $1 per hour of use)..
Hmm - I could get some nice advertising for $1500. If you have an electric car/Tesla or are in an area that gets a lot of such car owners, this makes sense. But the cost/benefit is that I could do a nice professional SEO job or a few years in a directory for that price...

But, if you had this you would be a "destination" for Tesla drivers. I can see a large contingency of DC/MD Teslas who would like to get away and play and use this as a home base. I have already seen one or two around town here. Consider it like taking the train and staying in one B&B for a few days, charging up at night.
So Arks you said you can have two charging at once? That would be a huge issue if you can only charge one at a time, but I am sure that would not be the case.
And for the rest of you, consider an inn to inn package and promotion when you get your charging stations up and running. Not just in the directory, website.
Not a discount, a promotion.

You Tesla drivers, are you willing to pay for a Tesla Package for your overnight stay? This would be a package just for you, preferred parking (you know where) and juice. Would you pay more to have this available? I think from what you are saying right now you surely would. I don't think we should just give everything away all the time, as another amenity. It is very specific, you had to go to a lot of trouble and expense to have this installed.

Yes I see the Cottage of the King already has a Tesla high power wall charger available there (that's the type charger they're giving free to many inns). So I'd guess they don't see the area as one that qualifies for a free one.

I find it interesting that there are none on the I-81 corridor in my state. the map shows it loops right around us.
Most on the map are opening soon so I hope our Teslakeepers are going to have a blast!
Oh and not to mention a certain 469 miles scenic parkway...

If there's not a supercharger nearby that could charge the car in 40 minutes, I'd definitely go for a package that lets me park and charge for the several hours it might take to charge the car.
If there IS a supercharger close enough to reach, the package becomes less attractive because I could charge quickly, and free, at the supercharger, then be free to pick any lodging I want.

I understand that, but you stated there aren't any currently. What are you willing to do to be near one, is what I mean, in the B&B package realm.
There is one in the center of our state and one is the south central area, none near our parkway, none near I-81. So the question is this...is there a directory of owners, ie 25 live in DC, 45 live in Memphis, etc? Out of curiosity.
I KNOW they want one right here. Absolutely will want one hear near both the above mentioned. We are with a days drive of 1/2 the US Population (not to mention the above mentioned popular roads)
Second question is: Would a Tesla driver be prone to longer road trips, longer stays, etc due to the economic factor and the FUN DRIVING factor?
