Hi guys,
So there has been some hype and panic around Google's mobile-friendly update (21/04/2015), and now that a week has passed since these algo changes have started rolling out, let's count our chickens.
Have you noticed (in Google Analytics) an increase in mobile traffic? And while on the subject, have you tested your website if it passes the automated "mobile friendly" test? (It is here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/).
I think most websites won't see any difference at all, except maybe local businesses.

Interesting that their mobile site doesn't work on my tablet.
It's also the hardest log in to find if you don't have it bookmarked. I'll have to check later.

I got "Awesome! This page is mobile-friendly." I'm amazed that I got this, as these testing sites usually find a bunch of picky things to complain about. I did remove 3 widgets recently, like from TA, that were slowing things down. Maybe that helped.
I spend day and night on a desktop computer. I really need to spend more time on mobile devices because that's what most people are using these days, and I need to see what their experience is like on my website.

My understanding is that there are 3 categories: PC (full), tablet, and mobile. Each with their own functionality. If you buy professional templates, sometimes you will see them promoting that it works on all 3 platforms (there is a phrase for something that is seamless across all 3, but it escapes me.
Tablet is different, as it is touch sensitive...

Dratz!

I know.
I have run updates, not upgrades. I have the window open and website in another window... i have to run to the store and get ready for guests, but will look at it while waiting for checkins.
What do you recommend? It is time...

Just download the new upgrade from their site and install it. Or, I can send you a zip file for it.

According to the test - I fail. It is still there though and as before, if they scroll & enlarge, they will get me. I am NOT going to ask my wonderful webmaster to do anything other than change photos when I get done taking them. I have my reasons and they are high-grade reasons - not for publication.

I meant to talk to you about that when we got together :-( Nothing will happen...like it is not going to disappear but it may push you down in Ga rankings...though since you are the only game in town, you are # 1! :)

intresting - the wordpress site that i maintain but did not create (and we have 'webmasters') does not pass the test. they update and upgrade and all those things for a fee .... hmmmmm
the little weebly site i created is mobile friendly.
