I'm guessing it's because corn is in absolutely everything that you don't grow yourself, that it's the new 'can't have' this year for us.
No corn starch, no corn syrup and basically nothing I don't cook myself because it's in everything including ketchup (which guests do ask for).
It's not that I usually use corn (except I make a wicked good corn scone), but it is in lots of things we don't make ourselves - juice, condiments, yogurt, cereal.
I know this isn't a problem for those who cook everything from scratch, but we don't. So these multiple guests get eggs and sausage and nothing else because I can't rely on the bakery not using anything corn-based in breads and croissants.
A head's up - add this one to your list of things you're going to hear about.

Hunts now makes a high fructose corn syrup free ketchup, so you can safely use that. Bon Mamon jam uses sugar no HFCS either. Yep, difficult to find if you don't make it yourself. :)

So you're giving in to food preferences, not actual food allergies/intolerances? You're a nice lady. Or perhaps you just like to keep getting their business!

My regular guest who is GF has added corn to her list this year, as well as oats. I was unaware until day 3.
Her allergy must be only in the grain form because she drank OJ each morning as well as yogurt without a singer hesitation.

These are all online reservations. No one ever replies to email questions about allergies. I'll ask when they arrive if this is a contact allergy wherein they will become sick if it's near them.
Then just leave off the plate anything that they can't eat. So basically, they get eggs and sausage. No corn in that unless you count what the animals ate.
